So then, what are we all having for lunch?

I don't know about you but I'm in the mood for a pie. Is there a finer food than the pie?

Yes, the pasty.

But any kind of house made of pastry with a meat and potatoe family living inside is welcome on my digestive street.

I'm taking a punt on the school lunch - it smells like teen spirit.

Or perhaps just sweat.

I'm having a vegetarian sausage roll I found in the health food shop while loitering on my way to work. I'm already anticipating it being really disgusting.

I am happy to report that my lunch of salmon with new potatoes and broad beans from the school canteen was delicious.

And only £2!

Blimey! Things have changed since our day. That Jamie Oliver has a lot to answer for.

I once asked the dinner lady what type of fish was in the fish and chips. "Frozen" I was told.

Hang on... no, that was in a takeaway in Edinburgh...

...and it wasn't me, it was Mark Clements.

Funny how the memory plays tricks.

Yours,
The Very Reverend Donald Runcy.
