Well, these message boards have certainly been quiet since *The Event* yesterday. I wonder if everyone is in shock because of *The Event*? Or maybe after *The Event* happened Mrs Kibble went out back and shot all the carrier pigeons that normally deliver the Inter-Post? |

DON'T THINK ABOUT THE EVENT! I'm brewing a new theory about who will win the world cup based on the current evidence. It has something to do with the national anthems... but I'm not sure what yet. |

Actually, on the subject of national anthems did anyone spot before the Spain Chile match that the commentator (think it was Drury) cinfidently asserted that the Spanish players weren't singing because they were "too focussed"? There are no words to the Spanish national anthem. Whereas, weirdly enough, the words to the Dutch anthem are an Ironic hymn of priase to the king of Spain. No, really. Not the present one, Phillip the second I think. |

I think not having words to your national anthem is probably a wise move. On an unrelated note, it seems my brilliant second round strategy lies in tatters. I am such a LOSER. |
