But surely for an early doors and a late doors to exist there must be a transition phase doors-wise, which could be known as mid-doors, current-doors, now-doors or immediate doors.

Otherwise you are proposing that doors only exists in the early phase or late phase. This immediate moving from early doors to late doors is an impossibility doors wise as it would suggest that doors does not exist in realtime but is merely a concept to be held and arrived at as an individual or group consensus.

Sorry for the late doors response, its a metaphysical minefield is doors.
