Could someone please pin point exactly for me when it stops being early doors? I need to know so that I can continue my gloating of the fact that I'm ahead of a certain someone in my group, and he can no longer have the excuse of the earliness of the doors.

Many thanks.

Technically speaking, and I believe I speak as something of an 'doors expert', early doors finishes when it becomes mid-doors.

Hope that clears things up.

Now, I'm constantly being told there's no such thing as "mid-doors".

There's "early doors", and that is immediately followed by "late doors".

Can anyone clarify?

The validity of the 'mid doors' doctrine is a long and fascinating one, as controversial as the division of the Roman Empire and the schism in the Roman Catholic Church. Whatever one's point of view, the case remains that we have yet to leave the period of 'early doors'.

there IS no such thing as mid-doors. it goes: early doors, early doors, early doors, early doors, early doors, late doors. like that.

I trust this clears any confusion up.

How many TIMES!

There is no such thing as "mid-doors". It makes me feel almost sick to type the words.

There are two doors.

EARLY DOORS and LATE DOORS.

It is early doors UNTIL it is late doors. You will know when it's no longer early doors because you'll look up and it will quite suddenly be late doors.

For example. You are at Auntie Fannies Poofter house the exchange goes like this:

A) "another?"

B) looks at watch Why not? It's early doors.

A disappears to bar

A returns with pints

B) "Christ we'd better get these down our necks and scarper, it's late doors!"

A) Jings!

A and B negotiate their way home via a variety of night buses, pausing only to contemplate an outdoor piss (a "magical") and some dodgy halal chicken en route, arriving home at decidedly late doors.

A/B)"Hello my darling, I'm home"

A/B's better half) "How did the writing go?"

A/B) "What? oh, very well thanks. We got lots done".

Thank you so much for the superfluous information. I always suspected as much.

My question still remains unanswered, mind. When will it be Late Doors, kibble-wise?

She weren't listening! GAW!

It goes:

Early doors
Early doors
Early doors
Early doors
Early doors

Late doors.

Like that.

This applies to *everything*

It's interested that Dr. Dyer, for all his talk of there being 'no mid doors' still leaves a gap between 'early doors' and 'late doors'. It seems to me that for all his protestation, he still believes in the existence of 'mid doors'.

THERE IS NO MID DOORS.
