I've just been reading a bit about General Patton, and there's something quite nuts about Old Blood And Guts. The fact that, despite being one of the great liberators of Europe he was basically a Nazi sympathiser. And there's his famous quote that "anyone who dies in battle is a fool". And of course his extremely foul-mouthed motivational speeches. Not necessarily a role model, but certainly a character! |
