Can I just highlight this game...

Armit is the only person who suggests that Kim Jong-Il will get any points at all... but he's still gone for a 3-1 win to Brazil.

Let's put that alongside a couple of 3-0 walkovers, and (while we're at it) a couple of 4-0 walkovers, and (why the hell not) a 5-0 'why not just shit in my mouth' kind of a score-line and I think we can see where our Kibblers are going with this...

And then of course, David Marks has predicted a scoreless draw.

He's top of the league, you know...

PS - Dave's a wanker, and Brazil are clearly going to win.

The way I see it is this...

Most truly great football teams are those forced to play for repressive regimes.

Brazil - in 1970 it was run by a Military Junta. They've never been as good since.

Argentina - The 1986 (fledging democracy) side was a one man team. 1978 (Facist Dictatorship)... now they could PLAY.

Hungary during the fifties. Great footy team - dark days for the Hungarian nation.

Holland - a liberal nation, played some terrific footy but never won a world cup.

Russia - never as good as the Old (and better) Soviet Union.

Poland - Shit since the Iron Curtain came down.

USA - Got good under George W Bush.

England are the exception to the rule. We only win the world cup under a Labour government (the last one funked its chances by its uncharacteristically anti civil liberties agenda) so don't expect it happen this year or until your grand children are whipping around on space bikes.

I think Marksy is onto something here. The 1934 World Cup was an Axis-tastic triumph for Mitteleurope.

Winner: Italy
Runners-Up: Czechoslovakia
Third: Germany
Fourth: Austria

I applaud the phrase "Axis-tastic" and will try to use it wherever possible (or indeed wherever impossible) for the REST OF MY LIFE!

Is it racist to say that the North Korean team all look like clones?

If they are clones they weren't well created - some of them were incredibly tiny
